purple hearts covers

Finally & exclusively available here, the mini album that brings together some of the great lost songs made famous around the world by the English Post-Punk ModPop godfathers Purple Hearts.

Starting with live favourite and all-time Mod classic 'Sorry She's Mine' from London's Small Faces, a regular set closer on the Hearts revival tour, here in all it's 1965 glory!

Next up is The Monkees "Stepping Stone' the TV stars garage fav', then 'Louise' by true garage heroes Paul Revere & The Raiders.

Next featured from The Hearts 79 classic Beat That long player, Davy Jones & The Lower Thirds ' Can't Help Thinking About Me'. The pre-Space Oddity Bowie never sounding better.

Closing side One is 'Guy Who Made Her A Star' the super rare and obsure Equals B-Side which was transformed into a super rare and equally obscure Purple Hearts B-Side. A slice of UK Garage rock royalty, available here on a podcast for the very first time!

Side Two begins with The Rolling Stones version of Beat That! tune 'If You Need Me' & the loveable Mop Tops Merseside take on the Motown classic 'Money'. Two tunes to feature in the Hearts set over the years 'It Aint Me Babe' & The Kinks 'I`m Not Like Everybody Else' lead us into the final track(s), two versions of GLORIA, here in it's original form by Belfast Gypsies THEM & again by a Van-Free THEM in 71, altogether now G-L-O-R-I-A!
